Hagel Announces Reduction in Civilian Furlough Days

Moline Airport Sees Runway Incursion Spike

The FAA recorded 1,150 runway incursions in the 12-month period ending September 30 last year across the U.S., and 18 of them were classified as “A” and “B,” the most serious of the four incursion categories. Some 772 of those incursions were pilot-induced. Continue reading

FAA Safety Briefing Wins Flight Safety Foundation’s Publication Award

During the Paris Air Show aerospace media dinner on Sunday at the Aero Club de France, the Flight Safety Foundation presented its Cecil A. Brownlow Publication Award to FAA Safety Briefing, the bimonthly publication and active online community serving pilots, flight instructors and aircraft technicians that is produced by the U.S. FAA. The FSF said the award is usually presented at the organization’s annual International Air Safety Summit, but this year it decided to bestow the award at the Paris Air Show. Continue reading
